The question of what pillow to use is a frequently asked one at our clinic!
However (sadly!) there isn’t actually an easy answer to this, and what works for one person may not work for another.
Our superstar Chiropractor Tracy is here to help you make some good choices when it comes to pillows and help you get a good nights sleep.
- Keep your neck in a neutral position
- If you are a back sleeper, then thin pillows are best! Avoid the temptation of fluffy (or two) pillows as this will result in your neck being forced forward
- If you sleep on your side, your pillows want to be equivalent to the width from your shoulder to your cheek, to keep your neck in neutral
- Front sleeping should be avoided altogether as this forces your neck into one position
The best thing to do if you are experiencing neck pain is to come and see a healthcare professional. Our team of Chiropractors and Osteopaths are highly qualified and experienced, and here to help. You can book a free telephone consultation today!
